The Accredited Golf Superintendent™ or AGS® designation was implemented on July 1, 2006. It is available to CGSA members who meet the criteria noted below.
The AGS® examination consists of 100 multiple choice type questions (open book format) relating to level one and two skills in the National Occupational Standards. The study material for this exam consists of one reference book as noted in the application form.
After earning the Accredited Golf Superintendent™ designation you must retain your Superintendent status and you much achieve 90 continuing education credits (CEC) over a 5 year period. This procedure helps keep Accredited Golf Superintendents updated on new developments through participation in educational seminars, conferences and other related activities.
NOTE: If you allow your designation to lapse, you must fulfill the current requirements of the program and rewrite the current exam to obtain your designation.
Authority to use the Accredited Golf Superintendent™ designation on letterhead, business cards and all forms of addresses as long as you remain a Superintendent member and meet all other criteria. You will also receive an Accredited Golf Superintendent™ certificate, an invitation to attend the CGSA Awards Luncheon and the official AGS® pin. If you wish, your employer will be notified by the CGSA President that you have achieved the Association’s highest designation.
