CGSA Announces Board Member Appointments for Saskatchewan and Quebec

CGSA Announces Board Member Appointments 

for Saskatchewan and Quebec

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mississauga, ON – The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) is pleased to announce two new appointments to its Board of Directors.

Matthew Choquette has been appointed Saskatchewan Director, effective immediately. He willBoard/Matt_Choquette_Photo.png complete the remaining term of Lance Wakefield, who has stepped down due to personal reasons. Wakefield has been a valued member of the Board, and the CGSA extends its sincere appreciation for his service, insight, and commitment to the association.

CGSA President Tyler McComas expressed gratitude for Wakefield’s contributions and welcomed Choquette to the Board: “We thank Lance for his participation on the CGSA Board of Directors; we appreciate his thoughtful insight and contributions during his tenure. We are looking forward to having Matthew Choquette join the Board as Saskatchewan Director, where we are confident, he will bring a collaborative spirit and new perspectives to the association.”

Choquette shared his enthusiasm for the role: “I look forward to working alongside the committed Board members and sharing my experience and voice for Saskatchewan.”

A CGSA member since 2017, Choquette has served as Superintendent at The Legends Golf Club in Warman, SK since 2016, with previous roles at Greenhills Golf Resort and Riverside Country Club.

The CGSA is also pleased to announce the appointment of Trevor Anderson, MS, as Quebec Director. This position has been vacant since the unexpected passing of former Quebec Director Alan Morton, whose dedication to the association and the superintendent community is warmly remembered. The CGSA remains grateful for Alan’s service during his time on the Board.

“We are delighted to welcome Trevor Anderson to the CGSA Board of Directors. His professionalism, leadership, and commitment to the industry will be tremendous assets to our national team. I look forward to working with Trevor and building our membership in theBoard/Tevor_Anderson_Photo.png province of Quebec,” said Tyler McComas, CGSA President.

Trevor Anderson also shared his excitement about joining the Board: “It is an honour to serve the CGSA membership in this capacity. I look forward to contributing to the important work of the association and representing the interests of superintendents across Quebec.”

Trevor has been a member of the CGSA since 2004. He has been the Superintendent at Mount Bruno Country Club in St. Bruno, Quebec since 2017. Previously Anderson worked at Club de Golf Fountainebleau. He achieved his Master Superintendent designation in 2021.
