MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and The Toro Company are pleased to announce Mr. Paul Davey, Assistant Superintendent from the Cordova Bay Golf Course in Victoria, British Columbia as the CGSA/Toro Assistant Superintendent of the Year Award winner for 2021.

The CGSA/Toro Assistant Superintendent of the Year award recognizes the specific achievements of a golf course assistant superintendent whose performance and contributions to the success of the facility go beyond those that would normally be expected. The award is presented to an individual who has contributed to his or her golf facility in a significant way and who has demonstrated professionalism, leadership, innovation, and a team approach in their work.

Paul has been a CGSA member since 2005 and has worked for Cordova Bay since February of 2005, currently in the position as Senior Assistant Superintendent. Paul graduated from Olds College in 2003 with a GPA 3.89 and made it to the Dean’s Honour Roll. Prior to Cordova Bay, Paul worked at Avondale Golf Course in Prince Edward Island and Kananaskis Country Club in Alberta. Dean Piller, AGS, Superintendent at Cordova Bay Golf Course nominated Paul for this award and said, "The value he brings to our organization is immeasurable as his contribution to our success goes far beyond his day-to-day activities. He is the calming force that keeps the atmosphere in our workplace focused, calm and productive."
