The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) Announces the 2022
Gordon Witteveen Award Winner

The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and The Toro Company, the award sponsor, are pleased to announce Garry Haynes, MS, AGS of the Blue Devil Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta as the CGSA Gordon Witteveen Award winner for 2022.
 
The Gordon Witteveen Award, sponsored by The Toro Company, is presented annually by the CGSA to the superintendent or assistant superintendent who has authored the best article for publication in the CGSA GreenMaster magazine during the past year. Gary's article entitled "Off the Grid Maintenance Shop", which was published in the Winter 2022 issue of GreenMaster, was judged by a panel of peers and Garry was unanimously chosen as the winner.
 
"It was a pleasure for me to notify Garry of this award," said Braydon Gilbert, AGS, CGSA Communications and Editorial Committee Chair. "Garry shares his innovative project that created a self-sustaining maintenance shop. We want to thank all authors who have contributed to the magazine and encourage members to continue to submit articles for their magazine."
 
Garry's article chronicles the process taken to develop an environmentally friendly maintenance shop, a fully self-sustaining, no connection to the power grid, city water or sewer. To read Garry's article visit: (GreenMaster Winter Issue).
Garry has been a CGSA member since 1999 and holds the association's Master Superintendent and Accredited Golf Superintendent (AGS) designations. He also sits on CGSA's Editorial Committee responsible for GreenMaster and communications vehicles.
 
Mr. Haynes will receive an All Access conference registration, a cash award of $500 generously donated from the Toro Company and will be presented with the Gordon Witteveen Award during the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, February 22 as part of The Canadian Golf Course Management Conference.
