What Is This All About?
CGSA and NGCOA Canada are encouraging golf courses across the country to take part in a global movement for sustainable golf through a partnership with the GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf.
GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf is an international non-profit organization entirely dedicated to advancing sustainability and climate action through golf. GEO works collaboratively with golf facilities, associations, and major tournaments worldwide to provide practical programs, reporting tools, and trusted certification. Their goal is to help the sport become a leader in sustainability while improving operational efficiency and public perception.
Through this partnership, many of GEO’s programs and resources are available for FREE to CGSA members and NGCOA Canada — including access to OnCourse® Canada, Sustainable Golf Scorecards and Carbon Reports, and the opportunity to pursue internationally recognized certification.
The program is framed around four key themes: Fostering Nature, Conserving Resources, Taking Climate Action, and Strengthening Communities.

- Sustainable Golf Pledge – A simple downloadable statement of commitment towards advancing sustainability in and through your facility.
- OnCourse® Program – Free web-app with guidance, self-assessments, and annual data tracking.
- Sustainable Golf Scorecards and Carbon Report – Annual reports with graphics, emissions data, and insights for engagement and internal tracking.
- Sustainable Golf Awards & Certification – Third-party verified, full facility certification and themed awards for nature, climate, and community.
