CGSA Announces New Board of Directors

The Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association took place on Wednesday, February 28. There were several elections and CGSA is pleased to announce it's new board for the 2024 - 2025 year;  
 
  • President, John McLinden, AGS, Superintendent, Toronto Ladies' Golf Club
  • Vice President, Braydon Gilbert, AGS, St. Charles Country Club
  • Manitoba Director, Dustin How, AGS, Southwood Golf and Country Club
  • Ontario Director, Jordan Kitchen, AGS, Superintendent, Hamilton Golf & Country Club
  • Quebec Director, Luc Ladouceur, Superintendent, Le Club Laval-Sur-Le-Lac
  • Atlantic Director, Matthew Blackburn, Chester Golf Club
 
Returning Directors are:
  • Past President, Dustin Zdan, AGS, Superintendent, Blackhawk Golf Club
  • Saskatchewan Director, Tyler McComas, Superintendent, The Willows Club
  • Alberta Director, Cameron Kusiek, Superintendent, Carnmoney Golf & Country Club
  • British Columbia Director, T-Jay Creamer, AGS, Superintendent, Olympic View Golf Club
Tyler McComas, Saskatchewan Director was appointed as Secretary Treasurer at the first meeting of this Board.
 
Several reports were presented during the AGM, including the President's Report, Chief Executive Officer Report and Secretary Treasurers Report.
 
"We are pleased to inform the membership of a surplus of $34,048; marking the seventh year of positive year end results," said John McLinden, AGS, CGSA President. “The CGSA Board of Directors will continue this momentum and have great plans for 2024.”
 
About John McLinden, AGS
John McLinden, AGS, is the Golf Course Superintendent of Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto in Thornhill, Ontario. John joined Ladies’ in 1990 as the Assistant Superintendent and became Superintendent in 2001. He has been a member of the CGSA since 1991 and has been on the Board of Directors since 2016. He was also President of the OGSA in 2015. McLinden is quoted as saying, “I am very honoured and humbled to be the 56th President of the CGSA and look forward to an exciting and challenging year representing all our members. John enjoys spending his spare time with his wife Stephanie, his two daughters Abigail and Avery, and their dog Brodie
