On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA), it is with great sadness that we inform you that John Bladon long-time member of CGSA passed away on November 1st at the age of 55.

Thank you, John, for your outstanding support to the turfgrass industry and in particular the CGSA through our Silent Auction and Golfmax Program.

A donation will be made in John’s memory to the CGSA Scholar's Fund, which is used to support future turf professionals in completing their studies.

A Celebration of Life will occur Thursday, November 23, 2023, from 1-4pm at Cutten Fields in Guelph, Ontario. Visitation from 1-2:30pm; and his service starts at 2:30. A live stream of the service will be available on Zoom starting at 2:30pm EST for those unable to attend in person.

In loving memory of John, donations can either be made to Helpaws, the animal rescue in St. Lucia, where he and Sabrina adopted Cooper, or to Kidney Cancer Canada Foundation, which supported John and Sabrina during his treatment.
