The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) Announces Reid Solodan, AGS as the 2024 CGSA/Envu Superintendent of the Year Award Recipient

VANCOUVER, BC – Today, during the Awards Dinner at the Fall Field Day, The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and Envu announced Mr. Reid Solodan, AGS, Superintendent from the Canmore Golf & Curling Club in Canmore, Alberta as the CGSA/Envu Superintendent of the Year.
The CGSA/Envu Superintendent of the Year award recognizes a member of the CGSA who has held the position of golf course superintendent for a minimum of five years and who has distinguished her or himself through dedication to the profession, performance as a golf course superintendent and contributions to their profession and their community.
“Reid has been a CGSA member since 1994 and holds the Association's Accredited Golf Superintendent (AGS) designation. He has been the Superintendent at Canmore Golf & Curling Club since 2004 and has been in the golf course management profession for 36 years, starting on the grounds crew at the age of 14. Reid was the CGSA/Toro Gordon Witteveen Award winner in 2020 and the CGSA/Rain Bird Environmental Achievement Award winner in 2019. In 2023 he was selected as the 2023 AGSA Walt Gooder Distinguished Service Award Recipient. Congratulations to Reid on all his achievements! I hope all of you will come out and support Reid in Niagara Falls in February 2025 when we recognize him for winning this prestigious award.”

As the CGSA/Envu Superintendent of the Year winner, Reid will receive the following:
- Attendance at and participation in the 2024 Fall Field Day in Vancouver, this includes all travel and hotel costs;
- Reid and his wife Terri will receive an “All-Access” registration to The CanadianGolf Course Management Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario from February 25-27, 2025, and 4 nights’ accommodation at the Hilton Niagara Falls Hotel and transportation costs to the Conference;
- A site visit with a written agronomic report from a Envu Green Solution Specialist;
- Including a $5,000 Envu plant protection package for the golf course; and
- A trip for two to attend an Envu educational opportunity that would include golf.
Mr. Solodan will be recognized during The Canadian Golf Course Management Conference and presented with his award during the Award Luncheon in Niagara Falls on February 25, 2025.
