MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and Foley Company are pleased to announce Chris Bozanin, Equipment Manager from Beacon Hall Golf Club, Aurora, Ontario, as the CGSA/Foley Company Equipment Technician of the Year Award winner for 2023.

The CGSA/Foley Company Equipment Technician of the Year Award is presented annually to the technician whose nomination is judged to be the best example of an individual who exhibits professionalism, innovation, and a team approach to make a significant contribution to their golf facility and the golf community.

As the winner of this award, Chris will receive an "All-Access" registration to The Canadian 2024 Golf Course Management Conference from February 27-29; 4 nights’ accommodation and transportation costs to Montreal and he will be presented with his award on Tuesday, February 27th during the Awards luncheon, where he will be recognized.

Colin Young, Director of Golf Course Operations at Beacon Hall Golf Club who nominated Chris said, “Chris is pro-active in solving potential problems by examining equipment daily. He is organized with up-to-date service schedules and keeps in good communication with me and the rest of my management team. After every use of our mowers, Chris checks the heights and adjusts, making sure they are cutting paper before it goes back out. It does not stop there - he goes out in the field daily to check quality of cut and operation of equipment, giving us feedback making us more efficient, more accountable, and better operators. Under pressure and dealing with equipment breakdowns Chris is always composed and assures me and my team that everything will be ok and consistently gets us back up and running promptly. He has conducted himself as a team player and a professional Equipment Manager!”
- Colin Young, Director of Golf

He does whatever it takes to get the job done! It is that motivation which contributes to the successful operation of Beacon Hall Golf Club. About Foley Company

The Foley Company started making grinders for the turf industry in 1926 and a new patented rear roller mounting system and all-visual gauging system was introduced in 2015 making set-up more efficient than ever. Foley’s grinders enable users to do quick touch-up spin grinding or return to OEM specifications, and this is one of many features that set Foley above the competition. In addition to leading the grinder industry, Foley Company completed the purchase of Air2G2, the industry leader of the soil air-injection process based in Jacksonville, FL in October 2020. Air2G2 is sold worldwide and is quite unique in its decompaction and soil profile health results. “Anytime you can inject good air in and force bad air out of the soil profile, it’s a winner every time. This acquisition allows Foley to offer turf health solutions for both above and below the turf, taking Foley to an exciting new level,” said Greg Turner – Director of Global Sales.
